Guided Setup Option

The Guided Setup Option is for the moments when you know what you want to photograph but are not sure how to get the camera to cooperate. It is a structured walkthrough of your own equipment, whether that is a phone, a mirrorless body, or a compact you have not touched in months. The goal is not to sell you new gear. It is to make the gear you already own work harder for the kind of images you actually want to make.

We start with a short conversation about the scenes you return to most often: the kitchen table in the morning, the walk to the station, the kids in the backyard. From there we go through the settings that matter for those specific situations, not a general list of every menu option. You will leave with a small set of saved presets and a clear idea of when to switch between them.

The session is practical by design. We talk about tradeoffs, like why a faster shutter matters more than a lower ISO for moving subjects, and when you can ignore the rule of thirds entirely. There is no homework and no pressure to memorize anything. The point is to build a repeatable routine that feels natural by the second or third time you try it.

By the end you will have a working setup that matches your habits, plus a one-page cheat sheet you can keep in your bag. If you later decide you want ongoing feedback, the Guided Setup Option pairs well with the Ongoing Support Package, but it also stands on its own as a single focused session.
