What this page does and does not cover

This section is written for the second audience segment: traders and analysts who already follow Australian markets and want the boundaries of our material stated plainly. Below are the definitions and conditions that apply to everything published here.

  1. Analysis, not advice

Everything on this page is general market commentary built from public data, chart structure, and published macro releases. It is not personal financial advice, and it does not account for your capital, your tax position, or your holding period. Any decision you take from reading it stays yours.

  2. What counts as a signal here

When we describe a setup on Austranext banks, an index, a currency pair, or a commodity, we mean a defined condition with an entry area, an invalidation level, and a stated time frame. Vague directional talk without those three parts is not a signal and should not be treated as one.

  3. Data timing and revisions

Daily reviews are written against the session close available at publication. Macro prints get revised, and forward curves shift after we publish. Where a revision changes the read on a chart, we note it in the following review rather than silently editing the original.

  4. Risk management is a condition, not a feature

Position sizing, stop placement, and drawdown limits are treated as prerequisites for using any of the material. If a strategy note does not fit your risk framework, the correct response is to skip it, not to widen the stop until it does.

  5. Scope of coverage

We focus on the Australian capital markets, the major currency pairs, and the commodity complex that feeds into them. Offshore indices and instruments appear only where they have a clear transmission path into that coverage. Anything outside it is out of scope by design.

  6. Corrections and contact

If a chart, figure, or definition here is wrong, write to info@life-lenz.com with the page and the specific line. Corrections are published openly. Questions about the platform itself can go to the same address or to +61.3.1383.7590 during business hours.

What traders on the desk actually read next

If you trade the ASX session from a home office in Perth or a dealing room in Sydney, the useful reading is rarely the headline. It is the working note that explains why the cash-rate curve and the bank index stopped agreeing last Tuesday. Below are three pieces written for that habit, plus the reference material that sits behind them.

Reading the RBA Cycle Through Austranext Banks

Bank equities tend to price a policy shift before the statement lands. The piece tracks four recent RBA cycles and marks where the spread between cash-rate futures and bank share momentum opened and closed, including the offshore funding caveat that breaks the signal.

AUD/USD Carry Trades When the Iron Ore Curve Bends

The carry story gets flattened into one spot print, which hides most of the risk. This one works through the iron ore forward curve, Chinese steel margins and the RBA-Treasury spread across a quarter, and names the conditions where the carry stops paying.

Position Sizing Rules That Survive a Bad Week

A fixed-fractional framework adapted to ASX session volatility, with explicit rules for cutting size after consecutive losses. It also covers the failure mode where size gets increased to recover drawdown, and how to structure the account so that option is not on the table.

Daily market reviews, indicator notes and risk-management write-ups are published through the week. If a specific instrument or session is giving you trouble, the desk answers questions by email at info@life-lenz.com or on +61.3.1383.7590.
