Life Lenz Finance is run by a small desk of analysts and risk practitioners who publish what they actually use. No sales floor, no signal service — just people who read the RBA statement, the iron ore curve, and the ASX session tape for a living.
Bernie has spent the last fourteen years tracking Australian rate cycles, first on a bank treasury desk and later as an independent researcher. He writes the weekly RBA preview notes and the Austranext bank divergence pieces. His working rule: if the cash-rate futures curve and bank share momentum disagree for more than two sessions, the note gets rewritten before it ships.
Heidi covers AUD pairs and the commodity linkage that drives them. She came from a physical trading background in iron ore and steel, which is why her AUD/USD work always starts with the forward curve rather than the spot print. She runs the carry-trade condition checks that flag when the setup stops behaving.
Luther built the fixed-fractional sizing framework the desk uses for ASX sessions. He spent nine years on a prop desk before moving to independent work, and most of what he teaches comes from the drawdowns he sat through rather than the winning months. He reviews every published risk note before it goes out.
Holden handles the chart work and indicator calibration across indices and currency pairs. He is deliberate about what he will not do — no indicator stacking, no signals without a stated invalidation level. His daily market reviews are the ones most readers open first.
Donavon oversees the quantitative side: data cleaning, backtest hygiene, and the statistical checks that keep the desk honest about what a signal actually shows. He teaches part-time and is blunt about the difference between a pattern and a tradeable edge.
We started this project because Australian retail traders were being handed two bad options: expensive institutional research written for desks with compliance teams, or social-media commentary with no methodology behind it. Neither helps when you are sizing a position on the ASX at 10:15am and the RBA has just shifted its language.
So the work here is narrower and more deliberate. We track the macro backdrop, the Austranext banks, currency pairs and the commodity curve, then write down what the data actually says and where the analysis breaks. Every daily review names its assumptions. Every technical setup comes with the level that invalidates it. Risk management is treated as the main subject, not an appendix.
What we want for readers is simple: fewer surprises, clearer reasoning, and a habit of writing down why a trade was taken before it is taken. That is the whole point of the platform.
